The Trek
This is the inaugural trek, sponsored by the Kangaroo Valley Remexio Partnership to be held on the 19th September 2009. The trail takes in the beautiful countryside of Kangaroo valley & Fitzroy falls, winding through the Morton National Park and the Meryla State Forest. You can view the route here.

The major challenge: 50kms
The challenge is to get your team across 50 kms of Australian Bush within 24 hours, and for each person to try to raise $150 towards the solar lighting project, which will bring lighting to over a hundred households in remote areas of Remexio.
The minor challenge: 14kms
For those less inclined to do the whole trek, your team could elect to do 14 kms, taking in the first part of the trail up to the Fitzroy Falls Checkpoint. You will still be encouraged to raise the $150 to help us reach our target of $30,000.
Anyone can do it
Trek for Timor is about teamwork, having fun and making a difference to the lives of people in East Timor. You need to form a team, start together, go through each checkpoint and finish together.
We encourage you to train & fundraise together before the trek. You don't need to be a fast walker or super fit, you just have to like walking with your friends in the bush.
Fundraising
Each person is encouraged to raise $150 to support KVRP's solar lighting project. By raising money for the KVRP you will be making an enormous difference in the quality of life of the people living in the most inaccessible parts of Remexio sub-district. Currently the only lighting available to these people is through the burning of kerosene - if they can afford it. It is both dirty and expensive and provides poor quality light.
